Last month I decided to plant a garden. I have been dying to plant one for sometime and we just never got around to it. So to make sure it happened this time, I went over to Home Depot and bought all of the wood, soil and plants. When Mike got home that day I told him he was building a planter box and that we would be planting a garden. It has been a lot of fun and the kids have loved helping me water the plants and watching their progress. Here is what we planted: asparagus, potatoes, onions, red and yellow bell peppers, jalapenos and tomatoes. All of the plants have been growing like crazy and we can't wait to start eating some of the vegetables. Who knew gardening in Arizona was so easy! The above picture was taken just a week or two after we planted the garden on March 18th.
This is what the potatoes looked like . . .
the onions . . .
and the bell peppers, jalapenos and tomatoes.
These pictures were taken just a little over a week later on March 26th. As you can see everything grew quite quickly.
And finally, these are pictures I took of the garden today! Look at those crazy potatoes. I had no idea those plants would get so big. It is crazy to think we just planted all of this last month. I know it sounds silly but we are so excited and proud of its progress.
A cute little bell pepper . . .
a jalapeno . . .
and of course the tomatoes!
THE WINNER IS. . .
