Fun at the Dinosaur Museum

If any of you know Cooper very well, you know how much he LOVES dinosaurs these days. When I told him there was a dinosaur museum in Phoenix he couldn't wait to visit it. The week before moving we made sure to make time for our visit and boy am I glad that I did. He has not stopped talking about the dinosaurs he saw and talks about going back all of the time. It's not a huge museum but well worth the trip if you have never been.

Cooper and the triceratops.

This cute man taught Cooper a lot of interesting facts about dinosaurs and even had cool things for Cooper to touch in the process.

Cooper and Kamryn playing with a puzzle.

Cooper and Kamryn practicing their gold panning skills. Cooper loved this as well and found lots of gold.

Kamryn playing peek-a-boo.

This pretty much sums up the entire trip . . . success.

Swim Lessons

Before moving, we decided to squeeze in a few last minute things . . . the first, swim lessons. Although neither one of them was very excited about them they both managed to learn something new. Cooper was the most improved and not only figured out how to swim to the side of the pool after jumping in but also decided he could swim from one side of the pool to the other unassisted. While very scary to watch he pulled it off and proceeded to swim back and forth for the remainder of the class. After that, he loved swim lessons and became a great swimmer.

Kamryn also managed to pick a few things up. Although she had a hard time getting used to kicking to the side, I think she has figured out what to do in case she falls in.

Dinosaur Birthday Party

We decided to celebrate the kids birthdays a little early this year. Since we were moving to California, we wanted them to be able to have a fun birthday party with all of their friends before the move. Cooper decided he wanted to have a dinosaur party and it turned out really cute (and I even managed to make it a little girly). The kids loved it and had a lot of fun. There was a dino dig, dinosaur puzzles, a pinata, cupcakes, presents, lots of yummy food and even better company. Thanks to everyone for making it so memorable.

Adventures at the Lake

Oh how we love the lake! We decided we had better get in as many trips as we could before moving to California. (And yes, we have moved. I will post more about that later.) We were able to make it out 3 times and loved every minute we were on the water. The kids love it and really, is there anywhere better to be during the Arizona summer? Thanks Mom and Dad Nielsen for letting us use the boat!!! Here are some cute pictures we took on our adventures . . .

Ahhhhh! What a day!

Cooper's first time being pulled on a tube. The boys LOVED it!

I love their faces in this picture! They had so much fun.

Kamryn was a little concerned for the boys when they were out on the tube.

These faces pretty much sum up the whole lake experience.

Preschool Graduation

Cooper did it! He finished his first year of preschool. He loved his teacher Miss Holly and loved going with his best buddy Bentley. The graduation was interesting to say the least. Cooper and Bentley started off shy. Bentley quickly moved on but Cooper continued to be grouchy for most of the presentation. I had to hold him for most of it just so he would sit with his class. Finally, he decided he wanted Daddy and Mike was able to get him back to his silly self. He ended up enjoying himself and loved the slide show we watched at the end. During the slide show his teacher included cute pictures of the class as well as funny little quotes they each said throughout the year. Here is one of Cooper's: "I love cheeseballs and chipmunks". What a goof ball.

Congrats Cooper on completing your first year of preschool! We love you!

Honestly, he looks like he was forced to do something aweful.

Daddy to the rescue.

Blankie Blues

My kids are OBSESSED with their blankies which makes it next to impossible for me to ever get them washed. Inevitably, I sneak them into the washer and get caught somewhere between the washing and drying. Much of the time there is crying and pleading and a lot of this . . .

More Mischief . . .

Anyone up for some reading?

How about hanging out? (Yes there were two towel bars on the wall.)
